SWY considered posting lots of information about
abuse on this site then we decided that others on the www had created
some amazing resources which accomplished all that we could develop
far better.
So here is our selection of some of the best we
have discovered on our travels. Remember that most of these sites
rely on the energy of individuals and sometimes they have need of
that energy for themselves. We'll try and keep these links current
but please do use the links in these sites to find your own best and
let us know so we can share what you have found.
One of the best survivor generated sites we've
ever found - sharp and helpful lots of imaginative information. If
you can't find what your looking for - let them know they'll be glad
to help.
This organisation is just beginning to move from
planning, to doing. It regards all childhood abuse as its mission
- well worth a visit . With luck their 24 hr National UK help line
should be operational when you visit (NAPAC stands for National Association
for People Abused in Childhood).
NAMSAS: National Association of Services for Male Sexual Abuse Survivors
is a very active and male focused organisation they run conferences
and training as well networking across the UK.
This is one of the most unrecognised resources
in the UK for all survivors run by a dedicated and knowledgeable activist
- You can purchase a UK survivors groups directory or most books ever
written about surviving abuse.
This site is here because when the founder of SWY
didn't know if it was worth the struggle to carry on - this amazing
human being's site gave hope that it was - please visit he will be
grateful that you chose to honour him by your visit.
Fire in Ice is a Merseyside based self-help project
run by and for men who have experienced child abuse especially those
who were abused in childcare institutions.
It is early days for this networking organisation
but if it can get going it will possibly become the most universal
voice for all survivors in the UK and Eire.
